Minimum Degree in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering /Metallurgy / Materials Engineering or equivalent
Registered with Board of Engineers of Malaysia (BEM).
Minimum Experience / Requirement
Minimum experience of TWO (2) years in similar roles or position, with appropriate inspection experience in the oil and gas industry including offshore/onshore site experience
Have sound knowledge on Inspection Planning and Management.
Have sound knowledge on inspection and testing of cranes and lifting equipment.
Be skilled in internal and external inspection and testing of: a) Cranes and Lifting Equipment; b) Risers; c) Static Equipment, inclusive of Piping, Fired and Unfired Pressure Vessels, Atmospheric Storage Tanks and Pressure Relief Devices.
Be knowledgeable in welding technology in terms of metallurgy, design and process.
Be familiar with non-destructive testing NDT methods, applications and limitations.
Knowledgeable in Quality Control for Plant Fabrications and Modifications.
Have a sound knowledge of International Standards and codes relating to oil and gas industry, structure, pipelines, pressure vessels and process facilities e.g. ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, SSPC, BGAS, and NACE standard specifications and statutory body (DOSH) related to corrosion control and monitoring activities.
Be able to read and interpret on engineering drawings.
Be fully conversant with mechanical catalogues, general arrangement (GA), P&ID and other related drawings required for the installation of the required works.
Be able to review, comment and approve inspection reports prepared by inspectors.
Be able to review and comment QC documents inclusive of Inspection Workpack, NDT Procedures, Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Hydrotest Procedures.
Be able to review inspection procedures submitted by contractors and prepare in-house inspection procedures.
Preferably certified and possess certificate from international body of inspection. I.e. API, CSWIP, PCN, SNT, AWS, IIW, NACE, BGAS, etc.
Have demonstrated competence in technical report writing, technical presentation and the ability to perform work with a high degree of initiative.
Be able to solve problems and perform work under pressure and with a high degree of efficiency.
Have leadership quality and be able to coordinate and supervise other inspection personnel and organize work.
Good command in both written and spoken languages i.e. Malay and English
